Rangers have already seen transfer game Claudio Braga is playing - it won't deter them
Rangers continue to strengthen Derek McInnes' squad amid links to Claudio Braga.
The Portuguese striker is attracting interest from the Gers after an impressive season with Hearts.
In the 2025-26 campaign, the 26-year-old was one of the leading goalscorers in the Scottish Premiership, forming a deadly partnership with Lawrence Shankland.
Braga has emerged as another Tynecastle target at Ibrox, but he's focused on Hearts right now.
The Jambos are preparing for their Champions League qualifier against Sturm Graz and the former Aalesunds attacker is excited to play in the prestigious competition.
While the Light Blues have plenty of options in the number nine position for now, that may change soon, and Braga's recent admission won't deter them from getting a deal over the line for him.
Rangers saw same thing happen with Lawrence Shankland transfer
Shankland finally made a move to the Gers this transfer window after years of speculation.
The Scotland international was consistently linked with the Light Blues before they finally signed him for free.
Season after season, the 30-year-old dealt with noise around his future at Tynecastle Park, but always remained determined to the cause in Gorgie.
Speaking to the media in February 2024, the centre-forward said, "I was happy to be here before, and I'm happy to be after – I never once said that I am desperate to go out the door. I'm enjoying my football and scoring goals."
Shankland has now finally fulfilled his apparent destiny at Ibrox, and Hearts can undoubtedly keep hold of Braga only for so long.
While the standout Portugal national has assured the Jam Tarts he's focused on the task at hand, it wouldn't be surprising to see his head get turned by the Glaswegian outfit.
Speaking to Hearts Standard on 18 July, Braga said, "I'm here and I'm completely focused on that.
"Of course, it’s interest, but at the same time, I can't focus about that while I'm here. I’m here, I'm a Hearts player and that's all you guys need to know, and that's all I need to feel. I’m a Hearts player and I'm here 100 per cent."
How Rangers door for Claudio Braga transfer could open soon
Ibrox News have covered reports of Braga being aware of Rangers' interest in him.
The Portuguese striker has arguably done enough to earn a move to a top team in Scotland, but a move to the Gers may have to wait for now.
McInnes has four centre-forwards in his ranks for now in Shankland, Youssef Chermiti, Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski.
The Scottish manager will likely have to sell a few of his number nines before pushing for Braga's signing.
There have been talks of Chermiti completing a big-money switch from Ibrox, and that may open the doors for another striker to join McInnes in Govan.
The Glaswegian outfit have had a busy summer window so far and only time will tell what their squad will look like at the start of next season.
