Rangers are set to miss out on the services of Couhaib Driouech to PSV Eindhoven, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper reported via its online edition on 5 July, quoting Eindhoven Dagblad, who claim that the Excelsior forward will undergo his medical at the Dutch club.

The Scottish club recently expressed an interest in signing the Moroccan [FC Update, 27 June] but quickly learned the deal would actually cost £3.4million, per Foot Mercato on 27 June.

Rangers are unlikely to be disheartened after missing out on Couhaib Driouech

Despite this setback, it does not make sense for the club to be downbeat as Gers have already added five players to their ranks this summer.

The club's Director of Football, Nils Koppen, joined from PSV, but Excelsior reached an agreement with the Dutch club, ending hopes of signing Driouech.

However, the Ibrox outfit are showing no signs of slowing down their summer rebuild and need to focus on other potential signings.

Philippe Clement knows that they are in need of additional attacking options to bolster their squad depth and provide competition for places.

While Hamza Igamane is set to join, having another quality striker would give the Belgian more tactical flexibility and cover for injuries or loss of form.

A strong attack is crucial for the club's domestic and European ambitions, so signing another striker alongside Igamane would be a smart move to strengthen the team in a key area.
