St Johnstone defender Callan Hamill, who's currently training at Arsenal, is wanted by Rangers and Celtic, having impressed scouts, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper issued an update via their website on 2 July after the Athletic reported about interest from the two Old Firm sides.

The 15-year-old can move cross border at the end of his under-16 season which means a compensation deal will have to take place next summer.

Rangers appear to be stepping up their youth recruitment

Gers' interest in Hamill, who is currently training at Arsenal, suggests that the club are stepping up their youth recruitment efforts.

The 15-year-old prospect has impressed scouts, indicating that he possesses the potential to develop into a top-level player.

By pursuing Hamill, the Ibrox outfit are demonstrating a commitment to identifying and securing young talent from across the UK.

The fact that Hamill is training at Arsenal further underscores his potential and the level of competition for his signature.

Rangers' pursuit of the young defender indicates that the club is willing to compete with top clubs for promising talent, which is crucial for the long-term success of the academy and the first team.
