He refused to come on as a substitute against St Mirren and was ultimately sold to the French club Lille.

How could Olwethu Makhanya emulate Hamza Igamane at Rangers?
The likelihood is that Makhanya will significantly enhance his reputation while in Scotland, which is also what Igamane did.
The South African star has proven that he is willing follow a similar route to the 23-year-old to force a move.
He failed to report to training with the MLS side after his World Cup exploits with his country.
He could do the same in the future to try and secure an exit from the Govan side, which would follow the precedent set by Igamane, when he did not come when Russell Martin was in charge.

Gers fans could take some silver lining if the new addition does act like their former attacker.
They sold the 10-cap international for around £10million despite his controversial antics.
Makhanya may not pull a similar stunt to what he has in the past, or like Igamane did, but if he does, at least the Bears know that they can still extract a huge fee.
He may well love his time with the Gers, once he feels the reception and the passion from the Ibrox support, and make himself a fan favourite in G51, and not feel the need to do so.
