Rangers have some major decisions to make regarding the sales of Thelo Aasgaard and Nicolas Raskin in the ongoing transfer window.

Uncertainty surrounds the Gers' midfielders and their futures at the Govan club this summer, with interest from abroad.

As things stand, the Norwegian ace and Belgium international are with their respective countries at the 2026 World Cup, with the Scandinavian nation booking their place in the last 16 after beating Cote d'Ivoire.

While Aasgaard and Raskin have been linked with exits from Ibrox, there's every chance that Derek McInnes will retain their services for next season.

The former Standard Liege star still has two years remaining on his contract at the Glaswegian outfit, which may tempt them to keep hold of him for longer.

As for the 24-year-old Norwegian, he moved to the Govan side last summer and signed a deal until the summer of 2029

Derek McInnes has his say on Thelo Aasgaard transfer

McInnes is reportedly keen to work with Aasgaard for the 2026-27 campaign and the 24-year-old is not for sale.

The Light Blues aren't looking to cash in on the former Luton Town player who scored seven goals and provided four assists in 33 William Hill Premiership appearances this season.

According to The Scottish Sun on 30 June, despite claims that Atalanta had opened talks for both Aasgaard and Raskin, no dialogue has taken place with the Glaswegian outfit.

The Govan side signed the Norway international for £3.5million and it wouldn't be surprising to see him go for at least £10m, while Raskin is valued at £20m at Ibrox after recent interest from Hull City.

How would Thelo Aasgaard fit into Derek McInnes' system?

Considering McInnes preferred a 4-4-2 formation during his time at Hearts, there may be some questions over Aasgaard's exact role in the team if he stays.

The Norwegian ace mainly operated in the number 10 position under Danny Rohl and Russell Martin, but he may be deployed out wide by the Scottish manager.

McInnes often made one of his wide midfielders at Tynecastle Park cut inside while the other stayed wide, and Aasgaard could potentially be set for a similar role in G51 next season.

With his physicality and skill on the ball, it could see him explode in the famous Ibrox blue.
