Rangers look set to sign Girona winger Kim Min-su.

Derek McInnes is desperate for a new winger to add creativity and flair to his side.

They had agreed a deal for Couhaib Driouech from PSV Eindhoven, but that fell apart.

South Korean ace Kim has since emerged as their priority target, after notching six goals and four assists last season.

It looks like McInnes will get his wish, and a new winger will come through the doors at Ibrox in the coming days.

A new update suggests that the Gers will make their interest concrete very quickly.

What is the latest on Rangers' chase for Kim Min-su?

Rangers are finally sorting the attacking reinforcement that they desperately need.

The Athletic's Jordan Campbell claimed on Thursday evening that they are closing on the 20-year-old.

It states that the Spanish club are expecting his release clause to be met by the Glasgow side.

It is understood that the La Liga 2 outfit are "disappointed", as they planned to keep him around.

The release clause is reportedly worth £8.5million, which would put him second on the record additions list.

What has McInnes said about new signings?

McInnes spoke after the 1-0 win over Jablonec in the Europa Conference League play-off win at Ibrox.

He revealed that his side are trying to get multiple players in and he is hopeful that one can be signed shortly.

Speaking to the media, he said: “We're trying in a few different areas to get the right players in, players with the right quality.

"We've been really focused on certain ones. I'm quite hopeful we can do one in the next few days.

“We're working extremely hard. I do think that having that extra level of pace and quality and invention in the top end of the pitch is going to be massive for us to improve. If we can get that, I'm pretty confident we can.”

That is an encouraging update, and perhaps he is talking about Kim, if the deal is as close as the report states.

He should add a bit of pace and dynamism to the team, something which they have been sorely lacking at the moment, hence the search for a new player on the flanks.

It has been a disappointing start to the campaign, but if they get the right additions in the final weeks of the window, it could start to look a lot brighter.

Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises group, the majority owners in Govan, have backed the manager with 11 signings so far for a figure of around £17million, and they are clearly willing to continue that.

Now, the boss needs to get it right on the pitch.
