Rangers could look to sign some big names for Derek McInnes this summer, but Lewis Ferguson would be a jaw-dropping addition.

The Bears' plans for the summer have taken a slight bump with the departure of Danny Rohl, who has now joined RB Salzburg.

However, McInnes' arrival doesn't mean there will be wholesale changes to summer transfer plans that were already in place.

Lawrence Shankland may go down as the biggest deal in the Scottish Premiership, but the 49ers are still planning to fork out big expenses on more signings.

The Gers may also wave goodbye to some players, with the future of Nicolas Raskin once again coming into question.

But, if Rangers were to sell Raskin, that could open the door for a sensational move for Ferguson.

Andy Devlin would be shocked if Rangers don't move for Lewis Ferguson

McInnes played an instrumental role in developing Ferguson during their time together at Aberdeen, where the latter then made the switch to Italy in 2022.

Ferguson has now racked up 25 appearances for Scotland, and has previously been loosely linked with a Bologna exit and return to his homeland.

While speaking on The Scottish Sun's Go Ballistic podcast, Andy Devlin shared his thoughts on how he thinks the Gers may take a look at the 26-year-old, with Raskin's possible exit also mentioned.

Devlin said: "I think Raskin is someone McInnes will look to shift on. I don't think he's the type of character for him.

"This is probably the right time for Rangers to sell Raskin.

"If they're not looking at Lewis Ferguson, I'll be amazed. McInnes has a history with Ferguson; whether Rangers can afford someone like him remains to be seen."

Ferguson is currently at the World Cup with Scotland, but has yet to rule out a return to the Scottish Premiership.

This is how Rangers can afford Ferguson; it involves Nicolas Raskin

Rangers are said to be expecting interest in Raskin this summer, who is arguably their marquee player.

There is reportedly interest from Italy, with Atalanta among other clubs in Europe looking to sign the Belgian.

Previous suggestions reveal Rangers could look for anything in excess of £20million for the midfielder, who they would then need a solid replacement for.

Ferguson's future at Bologna has come into doubt in the past, and the sale of Raskin, along with other funds the 49ers are committed to spending this summer, could be the key to getting a deal done.

A Scottish spine with McInnes at the helm could be a beautiful sight to see at Ibrox.
