Newcastle to submit attractive bid for Rangers ace Igamane amid financial issues

Newcastle could make an "attractive" bid for Rangers star Hamza Igamane due to the Scottish club struggling financially, according to Mountakhab.

The Moroccan forward has been in stunning form for the Gers lately, scoring five goals in his last six matches.

The Moroccan news outlet's report states that the 22-year-old is attracting interest from Premier League clubs including the Magpies, West Ham, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham and Everton and European giants like Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen.

It also claims that the Light Blues could be forced to accept an offer due to their financial position.

Rangers need to keep Igamane despite financial woes

The Gers' last set of accounts showed that the club had lost a staggering £17million but they are working towards improving their financial position.

The Light Blues announced in their AGM that they had cut £6million from their wage bill this season but the impact of missing out on Champions League football had offset that saving.

To start making substantial amounts of money again, the club need to be in the Champions League and be successful.

Their best chance to do that is to keep starts like Igamane and get rid of fringe players and underwhelming stars like Cyriel Dessers and Robin Propper.

If Philippe Clement wants to keep his job at Ibrox, Igamane should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

The club should resist the urge to make a quick buck on their young star and build around him.
