Kenny Miller is hopeful ahead of the coming season for Rangers, as they look to mount a title challenge.

The former Gers forward won the title three times at Ibrox, before the Bears endured a barren run.

Since then, the Govan side have triumphed just once, when Steven Gerrard guided Rangers through an unbeaten season in the 2020-21 term.

Derek McInnes takes the reins ahead of next season, replacing Danny Rohl following his surprise departure.

With big recruitment decisions to make, McInnes and Rangers will also be looking to secure a return for Mikey Moore, who impressed on loan from Tottenham last term.

Discussing the situation, Miller provided his thoughts on just whether this will happen as the Gers prepare for a new era.

Kenny Miller discusses Mikey Moore after standout Ibrox season

Scoring seven times and laying on four assists is not the most spectacular of records for a wide player, but Moore still remained a fan favourite.

At just 18, his willingness to take players on, constant energy, and big performances against Celtic saw his reputation skyrocket at Ibrox.

With parent club Tottenham staying in the Premier League, a second move could well be possible, with Miller echoing this.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he said: "I would be surprised if Rangers are not already all over Moore if there's going to be another loan deal for him.

"I would be very surprised if Ibrox wasn't his destination given he spoke so fondly about his time there, how much he enjoyed it and how it's been a really good spell for his development," he added.

"What a place to be an 18-year-old winger, what a place to be plying your trade."

With Spurs' top flight future in doubt last term, Moore could well have been required in the Championship.

However, Moore is now surplus to requirements ahead of next term, with the North London club targeting multiple widemen in the early stages of the transfer window.

"He's got a fanbase that absolutely loves him," said Miller.

"He's familiar in the building and knowing he's had a really, really good spell, he'll be aware of what the club expects from him.

Moore has admitted that he loved his time in Glasgow, with several positive comments after leaving surfacing.

Derek McInnes could influence Mikey Moore decision

After a disastrous start last season, the immediate goal of McInnes will be to open the campaign well, and sit in the title picture from the off.

McInnes proved a fantastic talent developer at Hearts, and this could influence his decision this summer.

At such a young age, Moore has bags of talent, with his potential just waiting to be unlocked.

After a full-season in Govan, another could be huge for his career, especially if he is shining in a side fighting for the title - an instant expectation placed on the shoulders of McInnes.
