John Souttar in 'strange' Rangers transfer limbo as Hearts rumours revealed
John Souttar is still a Rangers player going into the final hours of the transfer window.
Derek McInnes had told the Scotland international to find a new club at the start of the summer, yet no resolution seems to have been found.

Leicester City were being linked with a move for Souttar, but Russell Martin's team decided against.
With the English transfer window closing on 2 September, the centre-back doesn't have many options left.
The ever-reliable Chris Jack finds it "strange" that the Scottish defender is still at the club after seemingly being on his way out several weeks back.
Souttar's options have now narrowed as the Scottish deadline approaches.
It's worth keeping an eye on what the future holds for some of the outcasts at Ibrox, with interest still in them.
When asked about the latest on Souttar on the Rangers Review, with rumours linking him with a loan move to Hearts, Jack said, "This is a strange one for me.
"On the day that we had access to the squad in pre-season, we were told that Souttar had been omitted from the travelling party due to transfer interest.
"It sounded at that stage like it would be done and dusted relatively quickly. That was a long time ago, though.
"We have reported on various bits of interest over the course of the window, but the options have whittled away while Souttar has been out of the first team picture.
"We understand there is still interest in some of the fringe members of McInnes' squad."

McInnes hasn't felt the need yet, but Souttar may come in handy at Rangers over the course of the season.
The Scottish manager was rash in his decision to exclude the centre-back from his project at the Gers.
Emmanuel Fernandez has had a poor start to the season and Ben Godfrey hasn't played much football in recent seasons.
Olwethu Makhanya is the only other natural centre-back at McInnes' disposal apart from Souttar.
Godfrey has already picked up an injury at the Glaswegian outfit and keeping someone like the Scottish defender in G51 would be sensible for the 55-year-old head coach.
