Jack Butland will join Hull City from Rangers in the ongoing transfer window.

The Gers are expected to sign Ivor Pandur from the Tigers for £6million as he looks set to become the new number one in G51.

In the 2025-26 campaign, the 26-year-old shot-stopper played a key role as Sergej Jakirovic won Premier League promotion at MKM Stadium.

Instead of a swap between the two goalkeepers, Pandur and Butland will move to Ibrox and Hull, respectively, in two separate deals.

The Englishman has been a regular in between the sticks for the Light Blues, but it looks like Derek McInnes doesn't have him in his plans.

With Liam Kelly signing a new contract at the Glaswegian outfit, the Scottish ace will now be competing with the Croatian star for a place in the team.

Jack Butland to end three-year stint at Rangers

Butland joined the Gers as a free agent in July after his contract at Crystal Palace expired, following a loan spell at Manchester United.

After a promising debut campaign, where the 33-year-old made some impressive saves, the shot-stopper has been guilty of delivering inconsistent performances at Ibrox, leading to frustration among the fanbase.

According to Sky Sports on 29 June, Hull will pay the Light Blues £3m for Butland, who has one year left on his contract in Govan.

The England international made 38 appearances in the William Hill Premiership in the 2025-26 campaign, conceding 43 goals and keeping 12 clean sheets.

Pandur is currently with the Croatian World Cup squad but is expected to join the Glaswegian outfit soon ahead of next season.

Derek McInnes can continue to be ruthless at Ibrox

Rangers are planning a major rebuild under McInnes and the next departure could be Nicolas Raskin, who has been influential at Ibrox.

While the Belgium international is regarded much higher than Butland, it's clear that the Scottish manager isn't afraid to discard players who don't fit his plans in G51.

The uncertainty around the 25-year-old midfielder's future wouldn't be encouraging for McInnes and he may decide to get rid of him sooner rather than later.
