Immediate Jens Hjerto-Dahl update as Rangers complete Vanja Dragojevic transfer

Rangers have finally completed the signing of Vanja Dragojevic from Partizan Belgrade.

Derek McInnes was delighted to add the Serbian international to his squad on Wednesday, his seventh new addition.

It comes the day after Rangers returned to Ibrox with a 2-1 win over Saint-Etienne ahead of the Scottish Premiership starting next week.

Chris Jack has now reported for the Rangers Review that Nicolas Raskin is still expected to leave, while Connor Barron could follow him.

Despite Dragojevic signing, Jack states that a move for Hjerto-Dahl isn't dead in the water.

It's stated that any move for the Norweigian maestro would need to fit into Rangers' valuation of him.

For now, additions in defence and out wide are the priority.

Why Rangers have no choice but to move for Hjerto-Dahl now

Regardless of priorities elsewhere, if the Bears want Hjerto-Dahl, they have to get it done quickly.

That's because Cardiff are lurking and have already bid more, which is what Tromso will be looking for.

With £8.5m likely needed for his signature, Raskin very clearly needs to be sold after his breakout World Cup.

That was always going to be the case, but his success with Belgium only helps the Bears get top price for him.

Hjerto-Dahl started for Tromso in their Europa League qualifier against Hradec Kralove on Thursday.

That comes as Cardiff await a response on their £7.8m bid, via Sky Sport's Anthony Joseph.

That's where things stand with Hjerto-Dahl, and with Cardiff pushing hard, Rangers need to jump in immediately.
