Numerous Rangers stars will be sweating on their future as the transfer deadline approaches.

Derek McInnes has made no less than 11 new additions to his Rangers squad this summer.

Should everything go to plan, a few more will have made the move to Ibrox before the 3 September deadline.

However, with so many new faces in Govan, further room may need to be created in order to accommodate them all.

McInnes is already under significant pressure to quickly arrest Rangers' poor start to their Scottish Premiership campaign.

As a result, he looks set to be ruthless in terms of sanctioning exits for players he doesn't believe can contribute towards that.

Where does Clinton Nsiala have transfer interest from?

Fringe players such as Bailey Rice, Oliver Antman and Nedim Bajrami have all left Rangers this summer, and more are expected to follow.

The Scottish Sun claims on Saturday that as many as six players could yet be allowed to leave Govan before the window shuts.

Two of those are named as being Ross McCausland and Clinton Nsiala.

Starting with the former, the 23-year-old winger returned to Glasgow this summer following his loan spell with Cypriot side Aris Limassol.

He scored four goals in 26 appearances for them, and has been in and around McInnes' Rangers team over recent weeks.

McCausland scored in the 5-1 League Cup win over St Mirren too, but doesn't appear to have done enough to really catch his manager's eye.

The report doesn't suggest where he could land before the deadline, but it does provide such a possibility for Nsiala.

It's claimed the 22-year-old defender has interest from France and Cyprus, after his summer 2024 move from AC Milan hasn't worked out at all.

Nicolas Raskin, Connor Barron, Lyall Cameron and John Souttar are the remaining four players named as being exit candidates in what's left of the window.

So, what are Nsiala and McCausland's contract statuses at Rangers, and does it set Gers up to receive maximum fees for them?

Why Rangers are in conflicting contract spots with Nsiala and McCausland

Given both of these players haven't quite been able to consistently do it for Rangers at first-team level, they may not have strong respective markets.

In McCausland's case, Gers don't really have the luxury of being able to hold their transfer nerve either.

That's because his contract is set to expire next May, meaning Rangers need to sell him now or risk losing him for free in a matter of months.

Nsiala, on the other hand, is a player Ibrox chiefs could take more time over if they so wish.

The Frenchman is contracted in Govan until June 2028, and so if Rangers do want to sell this summer, they can hold out for a respectable fee.
