How Nicolas Raskin can still seal blockbuster Rangers exit as transfer windows close across Europe

It was expected that Nicolas Raskin would depart Rangers this summer.

However, with the deadlines across all of Europe's top leagues now coming to a close, questions still remain with the Belgian at Ibrox.

The Bears have remained consistent on their stance in regards to the midfielder.

They would only sell the 25-year-old for the right price and would not be forced into a sale.

But despite the window closing throughout many of Europe's leagues, Raskin could still seal an exit.

Where could Nicolas Raskin go to now to seal Rangers exit?

Raskin is now faced with a choice.

His options to leave Rangers are diminished, and he has to decide whether he is willing to wait for a top European league side to come in for him in January or next summer.

Or if he wants to push to leave now.

The Belgian's options are not zero, according to Rangers Review, despite the window shutting throughout Europe.

Suitors in Saudi Arabia and Turkey "remain a possibility" to sign Raskin this summer.

The Saudi transfer window is still open until Sunday, 6 September, while in Turkey, clubs have until Friday, 4 September to complete deals.

Rangers are not looking to replace Raskin within the squad, so allowing him to leave without another midfielder coming in has been mooted.

But, the Gers will only sell for the right price, and there is also every chance Raskin remains a Rangers player, until at least January.

Why Raskin should wait to seal exit

Raskin would undoubtedly get tempting contractual offers from Saudi Arabia or Turkey should any team look to sign him.

However, he would be better remaining at Rangers.

Although no move has come to fruition this time around, the Belgian is certainly good enough to play to a top level in Europe.

An excellent few months with Rangers and under Derek McInnes could bring more teams to the fold in the winter window, and then the Belgian could seal his blockbuster exit.

Moves to Turkey or Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career should be knocked back.
