Nico Raskin has long been linked with a move away from Rangers.

There has been plenty of positivity surrounding the 25-year-old in some difficult days at Ibrox.

It speaks volumes that he has become a Belgium international regular with the Light Blues.

That is exactly why so much interest has built surrounding his signatures over multiple transfer windows.

It hasn't materialised in a move and the midfielder remains a key member of Derek McInnes' squad.

A departure looked to be on the cards in the summer, but it didn't happen, but could it happen any time soon for Raskin?

What Nico Raskin is thinking at Rangers

Since his move from Standard Liege in January 2023, the 2001-born ace has been great for the Gers.

His last two campaigns each consisted of 16 goals and assists as he made his presence felt from the middle of the park.

That wasn't enough to carry the Govan outfit to a Premiership title, but raised his own profile.

Raskin has been strongly linked with various moves away, and one looked highly likely to go through in the summer.

McInnes started his tenure unsure what to do with the Belgian as he was left out of squads and benched before the window shut.

Former interim Rangers boss Barry Ferguson has now revealed that Raskin isn't looking at an Ibrox exit, at this stage.

Speaking via the Five Stars Podcast, he said: "Nico has got nothing in the back of his mind about leaving. The window is shut, he can now just concentrate on Rangers and making sure he's performing well."

That will certainly be music to the ears of everyone at Ibrox, but that won't halt interest in his signature.

Who is still interested in signing Raskin?

There was no shortage of transfer links for the midfielder in the summer.

Various Premier League sides were interested as Aston Villa, Everton, Hull City and Nottingham Forest were all seemingly in the race.

That was added to by LaLiga side Real Betis, while interest continues to build in Turkyie.

Turkish newspaper Takvim reported earlier in October that Besiktas have Raskin near the top of their January wishlist.

They are set to lodge a fourth bid for the Belgian after being rebuffed by the Gers previously.

It is great to hear that Ferguson doesn't believe he wants to leave, but it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming months.
