How much Rangers are demanding for Emmanuel Fernandez as exit stance set
Rangers are braced for further interest in Emmanuel Fernandez this summer.
There has been plenty of exit links for the 24-year-old after his debut campaign at Ibrox.
The centre-back managed to turn around negative opinions of him to become arguably the best defender in Govan.
That saw him become a full international for Nigeria and a star player for the Light Blues.
As a result, the interest in his signature doesn't come as a surprise at this stage of the window.
Fernandez continues to be linked with a move away from Rangers as the demand is now set for a late departure.
Bayer Leverkusen told what to pay for Emmanuel Fernandez
In a strange way, it is only a positive point that the defender is emerging as a target elsewhere.
The Light Blues have been slammed over the years for some poor transfer business, but the ex-Peterborough man has proven to be a diamond in the rough.
He was superb last season as he scored six goals across his 33 appearances in all competitions.
That appears to have caught the eye of Bayer Leverkusen as German outlet Fussball Daten reported on Friday.
They detail that the one-time Bundesliga winners are pursuing a move for Fernandez.
Rangers are said to want between £21million and £25m this summer and won't even consider offers below that.
Leverkusen are said to be "determined" to make a deal happen as official talks are set to get underway.
West Ham United and Atalanta are also said to be interested in a deal, one which that could represent a record at Ibrox.
Where would Fernandez sit in Rangers record sales?
There hasn't exactly been a rich history of big-money sales in Govan.
This sort of sale would be a blow to Derek McInnes' squad, but may be too tough to turn down.
Should Fernandez make a move to any of the above mentioned sides, he would likely do so for a record fee in G51.
Calvin Bassey remains the biggest departure from the Gers having joined Ajax for just shy of £20m in 2022.
The Nigerian would sit clear of that fee, above his fellow countryman, Nathan Patterson and Alan Hutton.
