According to an update from the Rangers Review, Adamson is set to join Raith Rovers on loan for the season.
There has been an agreement for the midfielder to head to Stark's Park after interest across the Scottish Championship and south of the border.
Adamson was involved for McInnes in pre-season, and even played in the 5-1 friendly victory over the club he is now destined to join.
The 19-year-old impressed with Alloa in League One last season while out on a cooperation loan deal, something the Gers have looked to take advantage of with some players once again this summer.
The plan will be for Adamson to try and play as much as possible at Raith, and hopefully come back to Ibrox ready-made for the first team.
