Lyall Cameron falls into Rangers exodus 'category' despite talk of Derek McInnes chance
Lyall Cameron could now leave Rangers, contrary to recent reports.
The 23-year-old is back training with the Bears after spending the second half of last season on loan with Aberdeen.
The attacking midfielder didn't impress while with the Dons, managing just one goal involvement in 17 matches.
Cameron joined the Gers on a free transfer last summer, in what many thought would be a good signing after his stellar performances with Dundee FC
However, it hasn't worked for him so far at Ibrox, but there has been talk that he could be given another chance under Derek McInnes.
Despite the suggestions, it now looks like Cameron could be on a long list of players who are cut from Rangers' squad this summer.
Lyall Cameron to join Danilo and others in Rangers exit
Recent reports suggested that Cameron was going to be given a chance under McInnes this pre-season.
While the midfielder may get some game time, there may be nothing in it, as it seems the Govan club want to offload him this summer.
Speaking on the Rangers Review on Sunday, Chris Jack revealed that Cameron is, in fact, likely to leave Ibrox again.
Jack said: "They'll try and do deals that suit all parties, likes of Danilo potentially moving on, likes of John Souttar potentially going to England, [Ross] McCausland, [Nedim] Bajrami.
"Cameron probably falls into that category as well. It's clear that Rangers have to move bodies on and in this next phase of the window, that will be a main focus."
While it's not known if Cameron could leave permanently or not, it is expected that Rangers will try to raise funds soon.
The Scot will bring the Bears pure profit from a sale since he only joined them for nothing just over a year ago.
His previous performances in the Scottish Premiership could see him leave for a decent fee, though his form in the last year will have made his stock value tumble.
But how much could the 49ers realistically pocket?
What is Cameron's market value?
Cameron is supposedly paid £6,000 per week, equating to a yearly salary in the region of £312,000.
After agreeing to a four-year deal in February 2025, his contract will keep him in Govan until 2029.
That helps the Gers when it comes to trying to raise funds for him this summer.
Transfermarkt value the attacking midfielder at just over £1million, a fee that would be welcomed by Rangers.
It seems unlikely that Cameron will get the game time he wants at Ibrox nest season, and so his exit looks likely.
