Connor Barron makes Rangers exit decision as deadline day offer tabled

Connor Barron is determined to stay at Rangers.

The midfielder wants to play a part under Derek McInnes this season, despite several midfielders joining the club.

He was an important player for Danny Rohl last term, but a knee injury had him sidelined for the majority of the second half of the season.

There has been speculation suggesting that he was going to leave the Govan side this summer.

However, it appears that Barron himself has turned a move away from Rangers down.

Why Connor Barron has turned down Rangers exit

According to an update from the Daily Record this Tuesday, Barron has turned down a loan move to German side Hannover 96.

The Gers have received several offers for the midfielder in recent days, and have either not been financially viable or turned down by the player.

The German transfer deadline is this Tuesday, and so he may need to join another club before Thursday's Scottish transfer deadline, or he will be staying put.

Spanish side Sevilla have been interested, but cannot make a move after being unable to free up a non-EU spot.

Barron is said to be keen to battle for his place under McInnes, and looks set to stay at Rangers, if not for a dramatic later twist.

How Barron can get back into starting XI

If it comes to January and Barron hasn't been able to break into the starting squad, he will not be short of interest elsewhere.

McInnes currently appears to favourite Dan Neil over the former Aberdeen star, with Terry Devlin also a favourite.

But Rangers' midfield has been a point of criticism recently, and so Barron may just need to bide his time.

If he gets a chance, he will have to take it.
