Caio Pontes has departed Rangers after leaving behind his first-team analyst role at the club.

The Bears have had some big changes behind the scenes recently, particularly with staff leaving and joining.

Derek McInnes had to wave goodbye to Sal Bibbo not long after meeting him, as the goalkeeping coach moved on to Coventry City in the Premier League.

Another exit saw Scott Fry leave Ibrox just months after coming to the club from Lincoln City, leaving shortly after becoming the Gers' first-ever set-piece specialist coach.

McInnes has his own backroom staff in place, with multiple figures following him from Hearts to Glasgow.

However, another figure who won't be a part of the Rangers boss' team is Pontes, who leaves for a new chapter in America.

What did Caio Pontes say to Danny Rohl and Russell Martin?

Rangers have acted quickly to ensure that McInnes has the right staff around him to lead the club back to the top of Scottish football.

Alan Archibald, Paul Sheerin and Craig Clark are all part of McInnes' backroom staff, but Pontes' exit is the third in a matter of days.

The first-team analyst has joined American side St. Louis City SC, but first pledged gratitude for his time at Ibrox, sending special thanks to Russell Martin and Danny Rohl.

Pontes wrote on his LinkedIn account: "As my time at Rangers comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on and appreciate the last three years.

"Starting in the academy and progressing into the first team has been an incredibly rewarding journey. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside some incredible people, gain invaluable experience, and develop not only as an analyst but also as a person.

"Thank you to all of the first team staff, Russell Martin, and Danny Rohl. It has been a privilege to work with you and learn from you over the past year. I’m excited for the next chapter."

Pontes started at Rangers as an academy analyst intern, and was promoted to a first-team position after two years.

It's not known if this was Pontes' decision, as he already seems to have found himself a new challenge in America with St. Louis City SC.

Will Rangers bring in any more coaches?

McInnes already has his assistant confirmed with Archibald, as Clark's arrival saw him appointed as a first-team coach.

Sheerin is one of the more senior additions for the Rangers boss to lean on, as the former will have a hands-on role in first-team training.

James Barrow also joined as a first-team performance coach, while McInnes will continue to work closely with Stig Inge Bjornebye, who was recently kept on as the club's sporting director.

There is a void with Pontes, Fry and Bibbo leaving, with the trio all specialist in their respective fields.

That being said, Rangers could look to replace them all before the season starts.
