Besiktas have been in contact with Rangers as the Bears look to bring Vaclav Cerny back to the club.

Derek McInnes has already seen multiple new faces walk through the doors at Ibrox to join him in a push for the title

Pre-season preparations have already begun, and though there has been a lot of emphasis on defence and midfield in the market, attention now turns to the attack.

Cerny was linked with a move back to the Light Blues recently, and it seems like Andrew Cavenagh and Co. have made their move to seal a sensational return.

The winger enjoyed an impressive first season with Besiktas last campaign, one that proves he would once again be a success in Glasgow.

Now, Besiktas have responded, as it seems Rangers have opened a bidding war to re-sign Cerny.

Rangers have indeed made the first move to sign Cerny.

As reported on Sunday by journalist Christian Vaquero, who is gathering a large following thanks to his latest exclusives, the Bears submitted a £5.1million offer for the forward, which has since been rejected.

It's said that the Czech forward is open to a return to the club after he enjoyed a loan spell with the Bears during the 2024-25 season.

Cerny played 52 times in total for the Gers that season, winning fans over by racking up 27 goals and assists.

It is reported that Rangers will prepare a second offer for the 28-year-old, as they remain confident of securing him on a permanent deal this time.

Cavenagh and Co. appear to have the belief they can pull a deal off for less than £8.5m, as further financial details come to light.

How much Besiktas may want for Cerny

Rangers most likely expected their first bid to be turned down, and may have just been testing the waters with Besiktas.

That's because the Turkish club paid just under £6m for Cerny last summer, and it's hard to see how his value could have dropped after a season where he picked up a combined 15 goals and assists in 34 matches.

Transfermarkt values Cerny at £6m, a fee that Rangers could look to agree with Besiktas before any potential add-ons.

The right-winger is 28 now, and a maximum package deal of £8.5m would be realistic for the 49ers to pay.
