Besiktas have closed the door on a Rangers return for Vaclav Cerny.

The Czechia winger had a spell-binding stint on loan with Rangers in the 2024-25 season.

He notched 18 goals and nine assists in 52 appearances with the Govan side.

He moved to Besiktas, and enjoyed a solid but not spectacular season, and there was speculation that he could come back to Ibrox.

Ibrox News revealed that the Turkish team may consider a high offer for the 28-year-old.

Now, a new report on his future suggests that a final decision has been made.

What have Besiktas decided on Vaclav Cerny amid Rangers return rumours?

A report from Turkish outfit TRT Spor on 22 June claims that Cerny will remain with the Super Lig club for the new season.

It states that they have learned that Vincenzo Italiano has decided that he is an important option.

The Italian is understood to be planning to utilise the 30-cap international on the right flank and wants to get more out of him, per other reports.

Why Rangers should not be concerned if they don't sign Cerny

The Gers have a solution if they can't sign Cerny, which looks to be the case.

Findlay Curtis is lying in wait to return to G51 when he is back from the World Cup with the Scotland national team.

He was not given a fair chance by Danny Rohl, who shipped him out on loan to Kilmarnock, without letting him earn a spot in the squad.

Derek McInnes' arrival and the 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh's focus on Scottish talent, mean that the 20-year-old has a real chance to make an impression in pre-season.

Curtis will be hoping that is the case, as he did enough at Rugby Park to prove that he is ready for his Ibrox breakthrough, as he notched five goals and one assist.

Not sealing a return for Cerny may well be the best move, so that one of their own can thrive, and show other talents that there is a pathway to stardom.

If he was brought in, then Curtis would have likely been shifted out on loan again, or used as a rotational piece, but without the veteran, he could be a starting option.
