Ben Godfrey is yet to make a true impression since joining Rangers.

The Englishman was just the third addition of a busy summer window at Ibrox.

He followed in the footsteps of Lawrence Shankland and Ross McCrorie.

The difference being that the centre-back signed on loan from Atalanta, compared to the others joining permanently.

That has maybe played its part in why he's hardly featured since coming in.

Godfrey will be hoping to play more often as the campaign goes on, as we now assess what we know about his contract.

How much could Rangers be paying Ben Godfrey?

It certainly hasn't been a great time for the defender in recent years.

He seriously caught the eye in Championship and Premier League with Norwich City before earning a move to Everton.

The 1998-born ace has since played for five other clubs, including his current parent outfit Atalanta.

After making just five appearances for the Italian side, he has ended up at Ibrox.

That plays a part in his pay packet as reports suggest that he earns £80,000-per-week with the Serie A outfit.

That equates to a yearly salary of £4.1million - certainly a sizable amount.

There are also reports that suggest he took a pay-cut to fit into Rangers' wage structure, but that hasn't been confirmed.

It is unclear what the Gers are paying, but should they look to keep him around, money may not stand in their way.

Will Rangers sign Godfrey permanently?

The loanee has made just six appearances since coming through the door in Govan.

Just one of those has come as a start in the Premiership.

That number will surely take a step up as the season goes on, but it is ultimately down to how he performs when given the chance.

Should he impress Derek McInnes and force his way in, a permanent deal could be on the cards.

Rangers reportedly hold a £3.8m option to buy Godfrey as part of his temporary switch from Atalanta.

That would represent a positive fee, if he is to be a useful asset in G51.

There is plenty of time remaining for him to prove point after a frustrating start, but will he do it?
