All signs indicate that Rangers could succeed with £10m Connor Barron transfer demand
Rangers could soon face a monumental decision regarding the future of Connor Barron.
While Derek McInnes would certainly like to build his team around a Scottish core, the likes of the former Aberdeen midfielder and John Souttar may leave Ibrox soon.
The midfielder is attracting interest from plenty of teams around Europe and it remains to be seen what the Light Blues decide to do with him.
The Glaswegian outfit are being linked with further additions to their engine room in the coming weeks, giving McInnes plenty of options to choose from.
Why Rangers have every right to demand massive Connor Barron price tag
Barry Ferguson called Barron underrated at the Gers, describing him as the standout star midway through last season.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show in December, he said, "Barron, over the past four to six weeks, has been Rangers' best player. You know what you're going to get from Connor. He gives 100 per cent. I don't think people give him enough credit as well."
If not for the midfielder's injury in the previous campaign, he would have certainly continued to play a key role under Rohl.
There's a reason the likes of West Ham United have expressed interest in Barron, with several other teams keeping tabs on him.
The Glaswegian outfit should take advantage of the situation and start a bidding war for the 23-year-old.
If Nicolas Raskin is valued at £20million to £25m at Ibrox, then there's no reason they can't look to demand and sanction a £10m move for the Scottish ace.
What does Ibrox transfer activity say about Connor Barron's future?
Rangers are being heavily linked with Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl and Partizan captain Vanja Dragojevic.
If the Gers get a deal over the line for the two, even just one, McInnes would arguably have a surplus of talent at his disposal.
Factoring in Raskin's inevitable sale at the Light Blues, Barron would still have to compete with Tochi Chukwuani, Mohamed Diomande, Neil, Devlin and the other potential signings for a place in the team.
With game time certainly not guaranteed for the Scotland international in G51, it would make sense for the Govan side to accept a significant offer for him.
