Aiden McGeady shares what he told Dan Neil before he signed for Rangers
The Gers punched their ticket to the semi-finals with a brilliant 3-0 win at Ibrox in the first of an Old Firm double header.
Neil, one of 14 close-season arrivals, opened the scoring for Derek McInnes' side in the 14th minute to get Ibrox off its feet.
Kevin Kelsy netted his first Rangers goal to double the lead, before Neil completed the convincing victory in the 76th minute.
Neil earned plenty of plaudits for a fantastic display in his first Old Firm derby, as Rangers earned a commanding win.
Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady has now shared what he told the 24-year-old before he put pen to paper on his Rangers contract this summer.

Neil came in for a bit of criticism in his first few games as a Rangers player, as the McInnes' side initially struggled for results.
Rangers were knocked out of qualifying in both the Europa League and Conference League, leaving McInnes under pressure early in his tenure.
But Rangers have now clocked up five straight victories to gain some momentum heading into an immediate Old Firm rematch at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday (20 September).
McGeady, speaking on the Go Football Radio Show, said he is a big fan of Neil's qualities and would have liked to see Celtic sign him.
He then revealed what he messaged Neil before he made the move to Ibrox to link up with McInnes.
McGeady said: "Dan Neil, not that I wanted him to play well I didn't want him to play well, but it proves that maybe sometimes I'm right about football when I said he is a good player.
"He's probably one that Celtic, when there was talk of him signing here, I said 'you can't be doing that mate, you cannot be signing for Rangers', and I was hoping Celtic might look at him.
"Even his performance yesterday, getting the ball, carrying it 30 or 40 yards, composure on it, his two finishes, but a player I think would have fit in at Celtic really well."

McGeady was not the only one impressed by Neil's performance at Ibrox.

Ferguson was particularly impressed with the leadership qualities the former Sunderland man brough to the table.
He said: "I think the last two games he's (Neil) been an absolute standout for Rangers. You could see the confidence grow in him.
"I thought he was a real leader, that's something that was maybe a question mark over him being given the captain when Lawrence Shankland is out injured.
"I'm delighted for him because it's a hard place to play at times, he was coming in for a bit of criticism, shows the kind of personality he's got."
