Three Rangers questions to emerge over past seven days include Old Firm power shift and McInnes' momentum
Rangers fans are buzzing after a convincing win in the first of an Old Firm double-header.
The Gers overpowered Celtic 3-0 at Ibrox on Sunday, to punch their ticket to the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup.
Dan Neil was on target twice, while there was also a goal for summer arrival Kevin Kelsy in a huge boost for the striker.
Derek McInnes' side have found some momentum, having won four straight Scottish Premiership games, too.
Coincidentally, Rangers face-off with their rivals again this coming Sunday when they visit Parkhead in the Scottish Premiership.
Here, Ibrox News looks at three questions to have emerged from the past seven days at Rangers.
Is this the start of a power shift in the Old Firm?
One thing McInnes will be keen to stress is the need to remain focused, and not attach too much importance to one result.
It's always good to get one over the auld enemy, but Rangers supporters have had to watch their rivals dominate in Scotland for far too long.
Sunday's victory was convincing, and there was a real hunger about Rangers in the way they went about the game.
But one victory in a League Cup quarter-final does not in itself prove there is a power shift.
Instead, what it can hopefully be is the start of one. If Rangers can follow it up with another big performance on enemy territory that would be hugely important.
For McInnes and this Rangers side, it is just important to not let this be a one-off, it must be a catalyst for big things this season.
Has Derek McInnes won the Rangers fans over?
Four straight Scottish Premiership wins, and a big victory over Celtic in the League Cup has certainly lifted the mood at Ibrox.
It was only a couple of weeks ago that fans were fuming as a penalty shoot-out to Czech minnows Jablonec saw Rangers crash out of the Conference League play-offs.
The pressure was really building on McInnes at that point, but since then he has found some much-needed momentum.
All four of those league victories came via single-goal margins, though, and it needed a late intervention from Bojan Miovski to see off St Mirren 1-0 in midweek.
Wins are wins however they come, though, and whisper it quietly but McInnes looks to be slowly winning over the fanbase.
If he can find a way to get another result at Celtic this weekend, then the mood will really continue to lift at Rangers.
Will Kevin Kelsy fill the Chermiti and Shankland void at Rangers?
Rangers' signing of Kelsy in the latter stages of the window was necessitated mainly by injuries.
Youssef Chermiti suffered a damaged ACL against Hibernian last month, and it remains to be seen if he will play any part again this season.
Captain Lawrence Shankland then suffered an untimely hamstring injury after scoring a few goals following a slow start to his Rangers career.
Kelsy getting off the mark nice and early, albeit in the League Cup, will give cause for optimism.
He will need to prove he can produce the goods consistently in the Premiership too, but it's certainly a great starting point for the 22-year-old Venezuelan.
