Rangers sign off on two more exits after Danny Rohl as Derek McInnes deal struck
Rangers are reportedly set to sign off on the exits of a couple of Danny Rohl's backroom staff members with a deal in place for Derek McInnes to join.
Rohl has been in talks with RB Salzburg over joining the Austrian side, just eight months after arriving at Ibrox.
The German did a good job in his short time in Glasgow, albeit Rangers wasted a glorious chance to win the Scottish Premiership title.
Long-time Rangers target McInnes is now set to finally take over at Ibrox, with Rohl and some senior members to exit imminently.
Danny Rohl to take Rangers staff members to Salzburg
Rohl's exit is rather bittersweet, given he definitely had the backing of fans even if there was frustration at the manner last season ended.
But the former Sheffield Wednesday boss now looks set to accept Salzburg's offer, with Rangers in line for a compensation payout.
As per the Rangers Review late on Saturday, McInnes' appointment at Ibrox will be announced soon, coinciding with Rohl's exit.
The report adds that assistant manager Matthias Kaltenbach and first-team performance coach Sascha Lense will follow Rohl out the exit.
That leaves a couple of gaps to be filled potentially, but it is likely that McInnes will also want to bring his own staff with him.
What about the other names on Rangers' managerial shortlist?
Rangers were said to have written up a four-man shortlist, which also included Steven Gerrard and likely Kevin Muscat.
Another of those was unnamed but was said to have connections to the English Premier League.
However, it is reported that the Gers did not hold talks with anyone other than McInnes.
Andrew Cavenagh and Jim Gillespie led the talks, with McInnes - who is in the States - now imminently set to become Rangers' latest manager.
The turmoil was unexpected, but the positive news is that all this appears to be done ahead of pre-season beginning.
