Derek McInnes’ new backroom staff detailed in Rangers announcement update
Derek McInnes may bring two members of his Hearts staff with him to Rangers.
The 54-year-old is set to join the Gers as their new manager, although Danny Rohl's exit is yet to be confirmed.
The German is in the final stages of leaving the Govan club, after RB Salzburg agreed upon a compensation fee.
McInnes has long been touted as a potential Light Blues boss, given his previous connections to the club.
He finally looks set to take the reins after turning the job down on two separate occasions.
Now, we may have an idea on his potential backroom staff after a new update drops.
When will Derek McInnes be confirmed and who will join him at Rangers?
A new timeline has been touted for when McInnes is expected to be named as the successor to Rohl.
He will be confirmed as the new Rangers boss when the 37-year-old and his staff members complete their move to Austria, according to Chris Jack.
The Rangers Review journalist revealed that Paul Sheerin and Alan Archibald are set to join the former Gers star.
He stated that the Bears are working on deals that would see the duo join their boss in the dugout.
Who are Paul Sheerin and Alan Archibald?
Sheerin is a 51-year-old coach, who has plenty of experience in Scottish football.
As a player, he made 210 appearances for St Johnstone, 152 for Arbroath, 72 for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, 60 for Ayr United and 54 for Aberdeen.
He has managed Arbroath to a third division title, but left when they were relegated to League Two in the 2013-14 season.
He spent time with Aberdeen's Under-20 side and also managed Falkirk but was sacked in December 2021, and has been with McInnes since at Kilmarnock and Hearts.
Archibald also has plenty of experience within the Scottish game, as he made 260 appearances for Patrick Thistle and 141 for Dundee United.
He managed the former between 2013 and 2018, winning the Scottish First Division (now Championship) in the 2012-13 season.
He was dismissed in October 2018, but returned to the Glasgow club in an assistant manager role in September 2019.
He went to Kilmarnock in 2023, and has followed McInnes like Sheerin has.
