Danny Rohl has finally been confirmed as the new RB Salzburg manager after leaving Rangers.

The German endured a turbulent few months at Ibrox, starting on fire before ending with a crash back down to earth.

It couldn't have been any worse than Russell Martin, who left as one of the worst managers in Rangers history before him.

Rohl steadied the ship and even went into the Scottish Premiership split as many people's favourite for the title.

It wasn't meant to be though, as four consecutive defeats put end to those hopes far too quickly.

With Derek McInnes already agreeing to replace Rohl, he will hope to go one step further and lift the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers squad reacts to Danny Rohl exit

Rohl clearly had his favourites, just think of the likes of Youssef Chermiti consistently being backed.

But then there were the likes of Bojan Miovski, who rarely started games and only came off the bench when used.

The Macedonian is one of those in the squad who has already reacted to the news of change at Ibrox.

Rangers confirmed the news on Instagram on Wednesday, with Miovski liking the post.

Alongside Miovski, Djeidi Gassama, Mason Munn and Clinton Nsiala liked the post of Rohl's exit.

When will Derek McInnes be confirmed at Rangers?

So, all eyes are now on McInnes.

After rejecting the Rangers job twice in his career, it is finally the right time for the Scotsman to make the long-awaited move to Ibrox.

With Lawrence Shankland also joining from Hearts, it is set to be a rough couple of months for Tony Bloom and those at Tynecastle.

Rangers are expecting their squad back at Auchenhowie on 22 June, and it's believed that McInnes will be in place before that.

Edinburgh News report that a move will cost Rangers around £700,000, but that is nothing compared to the couple of million banked for Rohl.

Everything appears to have lined up perfectly, and the Rangers squad's minimal reaction proves they may be happy too.

More will likely come, but for now, it's been a quiet reaction.
