Ryan Naderi played the "biggest match of my life so far" as the Rangers star made his debut for Czechia on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old came on in the second half of Czechia's 3-1 defeat to Spain in Oviedo.

Lamine Yamal and Rodri had put Spain two goals in front when Naderi was introduced, shortly before Jiri Slama pulled one back for the visitors.

However, the World Cup winners netted a late third through Mikel Merino to claim all three points in the UEFA Nations League clash.

While the big occasion ended in defeat for Naderi, he made himself proud with his performance.

Naderi reflected on the display at full-time, with the local press impressed by what they saw on the field.

How did Czech media react to Ryan Naderi display?

Naderi pledged his allegiance to Czechia this window, with paperwork delaying his debut until now.

The former Hansa Rostock forward was also eligible for Germany and Bulgaria, but ultimately opted for Czechia.

The stats show Naderi did not have any attempts or create any chances, but he played a part in Czechia's goal and also had one of his own ruled out.

Sport.Cz gave the attacker a rating of 2/5, though it must be noted this is on a sliding scale with one being the highest.

"He gave a really good performance in his first appearance for the Czech national team," the report added.

"Since his arrival on the pitch, he has hardly lost a duel and was at the beginning of the action from which Slama scored a goal.

"He scored a goal himself, but the referee did not recognise it due to a foul by one of the attacking Czech teammates."

What did Naderi have to say after Czechia debut?

It was clear after the game that Naderi was buzzing to have made his senior international debut after much deliberating over who he would represent.

"I feel unbelievable," he said. "It was amazing to be on the field. I really enjoyed it.

"Of course I was a little nervous because it's a huge match, the biggest of match my life so far. I wanted to enjoy it."

Naderi now has another chance to impress for the country of his mother's birth when Czechia face England at Wembley on Tuesday evening.

Rangers fans will now have more reason than one to get right behind Naderi in that match.
