Some fascinating storylines have emerged from Rangers' pre-season training camp in Spain.

Derek McInnes has taken his players away for some warm weather training ahead of their main pre-season schedule.

Rangers' first public-facing friendly will take place at Ibrox on 22 July against French side Saint-Etienne, before West Ham come to Glasgow on the 26th respectively.

This Spain trip gives McInnes his first opportunity to take a good look at his group of players, and will no doubt help him decide what he needs in the market going forward and who may need to leave.

It's understood that Rangers will play a couple of friendly matches whilst in Spain, but the identity of their opponents isn't known.

One thing that we do already know, however, is which players haven't linked up with the team over there and why.

Why Danilo and John Souttar aren't with Rangers in Spain

Saturday morning saw Rangers release the list of those players who are part of the Spanish training camp squad.

However, it didn't take long for fans to start pointing out those whose names weren't visible, and there were some intriguing ones to say the least.

The two standout names who haven't made the trip are Danilo and John Souttar, with both of their Ibrox futures have been in some doubt in recent times.

According to a report from The Rangers Review, both have been left out of the team due to an expectation that transfer exits will be commissioned for them in the near future.

It's claimed that Danilo has interest from Greece and in the Netherlands, whilst Souttar - who returned to Rangers' training base on Thursday - is said to have his admirers in English football.

A host of Rangers' new signings have been pictured being put through their paces in Spain, however.

Will Cammy Devlin join Rangers in Spain?

Saturday morning wasn't just met with Rangers Spanish training camp squad announcement.

Indeed, Gers have completed the signing of Cammy Devlin on a two-year contract from Hearts, taking Rangers' new signings total to six on the summer so far.

As per a report from The Scottish Sun, Devlin is said to be on his way to Spain to join up with his new Gers comrades.

Out of the Bears' other five new recruits, four have been spotted sweating away in the Spanish heat.

Captured in a video from Daily Record reporter Andy Newport on X, Lawrence Shankland, Dan Neil, Ben Godfrey and Ross McCrorie can all be seen taking part in a light hurdles drill.

So, why is Ivor Pandur not there? Well, due to his involvement in the World Cup, Rangers' new goalkeeper has been granted an extended period of absence to recover his fitness.

That includes not being part of Rangers' training camp squad in Spain.

But, one of Rangers' new additions to their goalkeeping department has been spotted in Spain.

New coach seen taking first steps in his role

Earlier this week, it was announced that legendary goalkeeper Allan McGregor had returned to Rangers.

The now-44-year-old is back at Ibrox as Gers' new lead goalkeeping coach, and he's been spotted getting to work in Spain.

Captured in video footage from the Rangers Review's Chris Jack on X, McGregor can be seen testing Liam Kelly in a light shot-stopping drill.

It's hoped that McGregor's experience will provide Gers' goalkeepers to gain some valuable knowledge from him, especially younger talents.
