Rangers have had lots to digest over the international break.

The Gers went into the three-week break in the best way possible, doing the double over Celtic in two Old Firm clashes.

The Bears are currently on a six-game win streak, having not conceded in any of their last four matches in all competitions.

However, Derek McInnes will now have to navigate his side to stay on the right track, as momentum has been halted because of the break.

The Light Blues saw several players depart Govan for international duty, including the likes of Minsu Kim and Nicolas Raskin, and McInnes will have been watching over his men anxiously.

Rangers return to action against Kilmarnock on Saturday, as Ibrox News takes a look at what the Gers have learnt ahead of the Scottish Premiership showdown.

Which Rangers players had successful international break?

Olwethu Makhanya has hit the ground running since arriving in Govan, instantly becoming a key part of McInnes' backline.

His early Ibrox success earned him a call-up to South Africa's national team, where he played his first two competitive matches for his country in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification stage.

The Gers can expect more call-ups for the 22-year-old in the future, and the same can be said for Emmanuel Fernandez, who played for Nigeria in a 3-3 draw against Russia.

Findlay Curtis was initially called up for duty with Scotland's U21s, grabbing four assists against Azerbaijan before being promoted to the Tartan Army's senior side.

He played 17 minutes in the 2-1 loss to Slovenia, as it's now hard to see why the Bears would let the winger link up with the U21s again.

On the other hand, Kim has dazzled since joining Rangers from Girona in an £8.5million deal this summer, completely earning his maiden call-up to South Korea's national team.

He featured three times for his nation across four friendlies, helping his side to a win and a draw, picking up positive reviews.

Kevin Kelsy, another summer addition, scored his first goal for Venezuela against Japan, but travelled back to Govan earlier than others after featuring in the 0-0 draw against South Korea last Friday. A welcome boost for the Gers.

Finally, Ryan Naderi was delighted after finalising the paperwork to play for the Czech Republic, making his debut in a 2-1 loss to Spain before impressing in a 3-0 loss to England.

McInnes has several players returning to Auchenhowie in good form and health.

Which Rangers players had unsuccessful international break?

Goalkeepers Ivor Pandur and Liam Kelly were away with Croatia and Scotland, but the pair remained on the bench for all four matches that their respective nations played.

The only thing this has caused is unnecessary disruption, as McInnes could have used the pair in training over the break.

Kosta Nedeljkovic suffered defeat in all three games that he played for Serbia in the Nations League, looking like a player void of confidence and match sharpness.

Rangers teammate and Serbian compatriot Vanja Dragojevic featured on the bench three times, but did not get a single minute over the break, which is disappointing.

Raskin is at risk of losing his place for Belgium, with Chelsea's Romeo Lavia expected to partner Youri Tielemans or Andre Onana moving forward.

The midfielder has made 154 appearances for the Gers and remains a key player under McInnes. The same cannot be said about his role with Belgium anymore.

Djeidi Gassama was unable to get a goal or assist in the 173 minutes he played for Mauritania in the Africa Cup of Nations, and has now been unable to score in his last 10 games for club and country.

Finally, Bojan Miovski struggled for North Macedonia, who lost all four of their Nations League matches and are without a goal in almost a year.

These players are not coming back to Ibrox in the best form.
