Igor Pandur has really started to establish himself at Rangers.

The Gers forked out a £6million sum to Hull City to bring the Croatia international to Ibrox this summer.

Jack Butland was sold to the Tigers in a separate deal, leaving Pandur as first-choice goalkeeper in Govan.

The 26-year-old looked a little shaky in his first few games, as Rangers were slow out of the blocks in the Derek McInnes era.

But since then, Pandur has really grown in stature, playing a key role in helping Rangers rack up seven straight wins in all competitions.

He has now been hailed by Liam Kelly, who opened up on what it's been like working with Pandur and Allan McGregor.

Liam Kelly shares what he loves about Ivor Pandur at Rangers

Kelly has largely had to play second fiddle since the academy graduate returned to Ibrox.

However, he did get some game time when Butland went through some struggles with form, so he could be forgiven for any frustration he might have felt by Pandur's arrival.

But Kelly has nothing but good things to say about his rival for the first-choice spot, hailing the competitive nature he has brought to training.

Additionally, he spoke of how much he is loving working under McGregor in training.

Rangers legend McGregor return to Ibrox in the summer as lead goalkeeping coach, and has been putting Pandur and Kelly through their paces.

Speaking to RYDC.co.uk, Kelly said: "We've got a really strong and competitive goalkeeping department headed up by Allan, and that pushes us all to improve every day.

"It's certainly an environment I enjoy being part of. It's great to be at Rangers and to work with Greegree and Ivor every day in training.

"Ivor is a perfect guy, and he's done so well for the team since he joined us. Obviously, I want to play games as well, so hopefully we can have a good battle to see who starts.

"We all just want to do our best for the team, and we can both learn from someone like Allan, who achieved so much as a player here and had a top-class career."

Healthy competition a good thing for Rangers

Pandur has grown in stature game by game in a Rangers shirt.

There were a few concerns after some shaky moments in his opening games under McInnes.

But since then, he has really shown himself to be a steady presence between the sticks, helped by a strong back four in front of him.

Kelly will want to play some games too, and having that healthy competition for places is vital all over the pitch.

It can be a tough life for a goalkeeper, because only one can play at a time, so Kelly has had to accept taking a watching brief.

But Pandur will know that any dip in form and he has a good operator in Kelly waiting to take the gloves.
