Tom English questions fans on Rangers poll after another win vs Motherwell

Rangers are showing signs of life under Derek McInnes after beating Motherwell on Saturday.

After an underwhelming start to the season, the Scottish manager found himself under pressure, but the Gers now have three league wins on the bounce after beating the Steelmen 1-0 on 5 September.

While the Light Blues got the three points by a narrow margin, they were dominant for most of the game.

The Ibrox faithful must have surely seen major signs of improvement as McInnes' team created multiple chances.

With Lawrence Shankland going off injured after eight minutes, other attackers had an opportunity to make a mark, but lacked the killer instincts.

There have been evident signs that McInnes is slowly starting to get things right in Govan, but some feel differently.

McInnes still isn't safe at Rangers and supporters could make their feelings known if the upcoming double-header against Celtic goes sideways.

For now, the ex-Hearts boss is bringing stability back to the Gers and the performances have undoubtedly improved in recent matches.

Yet some still don't think the Light Blues have recovered much since their poor start under the 55-year-old head coach.

BBC Scotland's chief sports writer Tom English couldn't believe 79 per cent of respondents at one point believed the Glaswegian outfit hadn't turned a corner on a poll by the BBC.

It's hard to argue against the upward trend at the Govan side and those who did respond have had their allegiances questioned.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound on 5 September, English said, "On the website they're running a poll asking whether Rangers have turned a corner. Currently, it's 79 per cent 'no'.

"I don't know who's contributing to this poll. I don't know where the allegiances lie of these people."

McInnes doesn't seem to be bothered much about the criticism coming his way and has stuck to his guns at Rangers.

After some initial chopping and changing of tactics and formations, the Scottish manager seems to have landed on his preferred one.

The 4-2-3-1 setup has worked well in the last few games and is starting to bring out the best in the team's creative players.

There are still major question marks on the Glaswegian outfit's defence, especially with the partnership of Emmanuel Fernandez and Olwethu Makhanya, but McInnes' faith in them paid off as they kept their second clean sheet in three games.

Now, it's about keeping this run going at all costs.
