Tom English asked what Rangers contacts will think about European embarrassment

Rangers have crashed out of Europe completely as their embarrassing start to the season continues.

Derek McInnes will be fighting for his job soon, with Europa League and Conference League qualification thrown away.

The Bears missed out on the Conference League with defeat on penalties to Jablonec on Thursday evening in Czechia.

That follows losing over two legs to Polish side Jagiellonia, as fans start an uproar in person and online.

Findlay Curtis and James Penrice missed their penalties, but it was those two who were rare shining lights.

Rangers are consistently embarrassing themselves, with McInnes and his senior players needing to take more than a look at their own actions.

Andrew Cavenagh will certainly think that after another huge spend.

What is happening at Rangers?

New signings have been shocking, there's no secure formation and nobody has been positive all season.

Tom English couldn't believe what he was watching in Czechia again, and he believes Cavenagh will be thinking the exact same after the money spent.

When asked about what his "contacts" at Rangers will think about this live on BBC Sportsound, English shared his thoughts.

"The players that were on show tonight cost in and around in transfer fees, £30million," he said.

"The wages that Rangers pay are quite good obviously, so it's multiple millions here.

"If I'm Andrew Cavenagh, I'm looking at this and thinking, hang on, we need to be better than this, and they should be better than this."

How will this change at Rangers?

Cavenagh and the 49ers will be raging, but they are still set to spend even more money before the 3 September deadline.

Kim Min-su has just signed from Girona for £8.5million, and he won't be the last new face.

The Korean winger will need to perform miracles to make this Rangers side look dangerous in the final third, though.

Portland Timbers striker Kevin Kelsy will also sign for £9.5m, so McInnes has zero excuses.

The manager will be lucky to keep his job with no European football, and if he doesn't win at least two pieces of domestic silverware, one of those being the league, he has to go.

With no Thursday night football, Rangers have to win every week in Scotland, regardless of who they're playing.
