Rangers are finally hitting some form after a difficult start to the season.

There were high expectations for the Light Blues when Derek McInnes came through the door.

That only added fuel to the fire of frustration when he started in far from ideal fashion.

The Light Blues' struggles were summed up with elimination from European qualification.

That might have turned out to be a blessing in disguise as things have turned around since then.

Rangers are now in a superb run of form as we assess what has changed the opinion of fans this season.

How good James Penrice is

There was so much business done in Govan over the summer that it is hardly to truly rank all the signings.

As that may be, you'd struggle to find someone who doesn't have James Penrice right at the top of the list.

The loan signing of the left-back hardly ripped up any trees, but looked ready to plug a gap in McInnes' side.

That saw many not assume much from Penrice, but they have certainly changed their opinion now.

The AEK Athens loanee has been simply superb.

He has arguably been the key to the winning run and has transformed how the Light Blues play.

No one truly expected his impact to be so vast.

James Penrice 'phenomenal' at Rangers after doing something he's never done for Derek McInnes

Olwethu Makhanya to be as good as he is

Penrice has been superb, but fans knew a bit more about him.

Olwethu Makhanya is someone that supporters knew little to nothing about.

That isn't a surprise as a 22-year-old who was in his third year featuring for Philadelphia Union in MLS.

What everyone at Ibrox now knows is that the South African is a top-class operator.

His work at the centre of defence has been excellent as he brings a calmness and true quality to McInnes' side.

There is already a feeling that he is destined for bigger and better things, which no one could have expected before his move.

More was expected of Bojan Miovski

There were such high hopes when Bojan Miovski stepped through the doors in G51 in the summer of 2025.

It just hasn't worked out as anyone hoped.

His first season back in the Premiership came brought seven goals, but there was a hope that he could hit the ground running in his second year.

The North Macedonian hasn't done very much this time around having featured just five times.

That has only been made more surprising given he hasn't stepped up since injuries to both Youssef Chermiti and Lawrence Shankland.

It is a surprise that he didn't leave or start to show his worth for Rangers, but here we are.
