Supercomputer predicts Scottish Premiership title winner after seismic Rangers win vs Celtic
The victory away at their fierce rivals came hot on the heels of a 3-0 win over the same opposition in the Premier Sports Cup a week earlier.
Not only have Rangers given their season a shot in the arm, they have completely derailed Celtic's.
However, Celtic do still remain top of the table with seven games of the campaign played.
Martin O'Neill's side hold a two-point advantage on the Gers, though there is no doubt where the momentum lies.
But who does the supercomputer predict to come out on top come the conclusion of the season?
Are Rangers now the favourites to pip Celtic to title?
The magnitude of Rangers' latest win over Celtic cannot be emphasised enough.
Rangers could potentially have ended the weekend eight points behind Celtic.
Even a draw, which would not have been the worst outcome, would have left Rangers four points behind.
As it is, that gap now stands at just two points and it is very much game on.
However, Opta's supercomputer still has Celtic as quite clear favourites for the title.
Celtic are given a 75.38 per cent chance of lifting the title, compared to 9.95 per cent for Rangers.
That is quite the gulf all things considered.
However, one thing it does not take into account is 'momentum', so to speak, and it is clear one side is on the up while the other is on the slide.

Now that the first section of the season is done with, Rangers fans have a few weeks to manage without any club football.
Every fixture is important, of course, but the next standout one is the trip to Tynecastle to take on Hearts on 28 October.
The Premier Sports Cup semi-final with Aberdeen is just three days later, while Celtic are back at Ibrox on 3 January in the next Old Firm.
Derek McInnes has successfully turned things around after a slow start at Rangers, but there is still plenty of work to do to end this latest title wait.
