Rangers could reportedly accelerate their interest in ES Setif midfielder Ahmed Kendouci after Ianis Hagi's injury.

According to The Daily Record, Ross Wilson may take a punt on the Algeria international as the Romanian is unavailable for the rest of the season as Giovanni van Bronckhorst related this update on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old, who is a goal-scoring midfielder, is also linked with a move to rivals Celtic.

Snap him up

Letting Celtic sign a player of his calibre would be a double blow for Gers and one they must avoid at all costs.

According to the Daily Record, he could be snapped for a pittance of £1million - which is a bargain.

At 22, he's already a full international and performing consistently at that level is a testament to how well he's progressed.

He would not only solve the short-term Hagi problem but could also be at the club for the longer term.

Given his age, there's a good chance that he stays put at the club for the entirety of this decade unless a bigger club comes in for his services.

Due to him being in Algeria, he's not quite on the radar of some of Europe's biggest teams which plays it perfectly into the hands of Gers.

Whether or not they follow up their interest with a bid remains to be seen.

However, if Celtic are genuinely stepping up their interest, they've got to do everything to bring him to Ibrox.
