Ianis Hagi likely to leave Rangers in the summer
Rangers attacker Ianis Hagi is likely to leave in the summer, according to Hungarian media outlet Germanijak.
The report claims that the 23-year-old is ‘probably out’ by the end of the season and that Robert Muric could be a potential replacement.
The Rijeka winger has been linked with a move to the Ibrox, but thus far the club have not made an official approach to land his services.
Hagi must stay
While Muric is a good player and would add value to this Gers squad, he must not be signed as a replacement for Hagi.
Instead, the 25-year-old must be brought in to supplement the Romanian and Giovanni van Bronckhorst could surely find a way to play both in the same team.
While Muric also likes to play on the right wing, the Dutchman’s fluid system could see one of them move central or drift out to the other flank.
However, they must not compromise selling Hagi as he’s the sort of player they can build an entire team around.
Even Steven Gerrard was a huge fan of the 23-year-old and waxed lyrical over him on countless occasions.
In February 2020, he said of the player, via the BBC, “He was outstanding. I was actually shouting at him to take a touch [for the goal], so it shows what I know.”
No matter the offer, Hagi must be retained by the club hierarchy and Gers need to sign a few more quality players in the summer as well.
