Just when Lawrence Shankland was starting to hit goalscoring form for Rangers, the 31-year-old has suffered a significant injury.
He'd scored three in his last two league games before being forced off after just eight minutes against Motherwell.
As a result, Shankland will not be playing any part against St Mirren on Wednesday evening.
Elsewhere, Tuur Rommens is also dealing with a groin strain and isn't expected to return in time to face the Buddies.
Youssef Chermiti is of course another long-term absentee with his ACL injury, and isn't expected to be fit again until 2027.
Jose Cifuentes is still a Rangers player too, but he's also dealing with an injury issue and it's this that likely curtailed a summer move away for him.

Rangers ran out 5-1 winners over St Mirren in the Scottish League Cup on 16 August.
It was a humbling afternoon for the Buddies, and one that demanded a good response in their following games.
McLeish got that from his players, as they came from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 at home to Motherwell in their next match.
They then went to Kilmarnock and claimed a 1-0 victory thanks to a fourth-minute goal from Fraser Taylor.
Celtic were pushed all the way last time out too, with Martin O'Neill's side narrowly escaping St Mirren Park with a 2-1 win.
St Mirren currently sit third in the Scottish Premiership table, level on points with Rangers but above them, thanks to a superior goal difference.
