But, quietly, Rangers have begun to turn things around, earning three straight Scottish Premiership victories.
The latest of those came courtesy of Ryan Naderi bagging the only goal of the game in a 1-0 triumph at Ibrox.
In that game, there was one noticeable problem with Minsu Kim that Derek McInnes can solve ahead of a crucial period that involves a double header with Celtic.

Rangers forked out a reported £8.5million to sign South Korean attacker Minsu Kim from Girona last month.
However, Kim did not have the best outing in the Motherwell victory, and his confidence seemed a little sapped when he missed a first-half penalty after Naderi's opener.
It was noted by many supporters how Kim looked a little leggy, and it is perfectly understandable considering he played three games in a week so quick after moving to Ibrox.
Against Motherwell, his pass accuracy was just 71 per cent, which dropped to 62 per cent in the opposition half.
He did make three key passes, but had an expected assists rating of just 0.16, was successful in just one of three attempted dribbles, and lost possession 12 times.
It does feel now that McInnes should probably take the decision to leave Kim out of the starting XI when St Mirren make the trip to Ibrox on Wednesday.
But not as a punishment, but because it could be really crucial in the context of what's to come.

After the Rangers game, comes crucial double header for McInnes against Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Rangers first host Martin O'Neill's side at Ibrox in the Scottish League Cup on 13 September, before they visit enemy territory a week later in the Scottish Premiership.
It is not about taking St Mirren lightly, but it does make sense that Kim should be named among the bench and used in case of emergency for that game.
By doing that, hopefully he can be a bit fresher and more energetic in the games against Celtic, where his creativity could be crucial in Rangers' hopes of defeating their rivals.
It really does feel like a sensible course of action given what is at stake this month for McInnes.
