Rangers simply have to come out on top in the home leg, especially after the disappointment in the previous encounter.
They can't be playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League, as they are better than that, and more importantly, the finances involved are nowhere near as good.
With Celtic potentially reaching the Champions League, dropping down to the third-tier of European competition would only increase the gap with McInnes' side.
