Rangers told what they're lacking as Barry Ferguson example raised
The Gers have racked up seven straight wins across all competitions, including six in the Scottish Premiership.
However, that winning streak came to a halt at Dens Park as Rangers were held to a 2-2 draw.
With Old Firm rivals Celtic hammering Hearts 7-1 on home turf the next day, Rangers now trail Martin O'Neill's side by four points.
It was a particularly disappointing result given that Rangers had fought back from a goal down to get themselves in front.
Former Rangers striker Kevin Kyle discussed what Rangers lack during a segment on the Go Radio Football Show.
Kevin Kyle pinpoints Rangers deficiency
Rangers will be kicking themselves make no doubt it, because it was a great opportunity at Dens Park.
Dundee are a very capable team, but when Rangers got in front they lacked the nous to see out the game.
Indeed, one supporter speaking as part of an in-studio panel on the Go Radio Football Show stated that he thinks Rangers lack leadership.
He used Barry Ferguson as the most recent example, and thinks Rangers have lacked that type of character for several years.
Kyle couldn't help but agree as he said: "I think there's an element of truth in that.
"Because I think when you're 2-1 up away at Dundee on a Saturday night somebody has to be saying 'although we want to try and get a third we don't want to concede an equaliser'.
"And obviously the mistake by Dan Neil it can happen, it led to a great finish.
"I get what you're saying someone who can make sure the team stays focused enough to make sure they see out the game? I think Rangers do lack somebody like that."
Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady pushed back at that point, saying: "Then people two weeks ago after the celtic game were saying Dan Neil looks like the leader now."
Kyle replied: "Well he should be leading because he was captain of Sunderland, and led Sunderland in the Championship."
McGeady added: "He's saying he's not seen that in Dan Neil, he's not seeing a Rangers leader."
No need to overreact to Rangers setback
Look, there's no escaping the fact that once Rangers got themselves ahead, they should have seen out the game.
But we're still only in October, there are going to be plenty more twists and turns to come.
There's no need to overreact to what is a minor setback against a team that is going really well in the league.
Let's not forget either that is still a team finding its fight, and players figuring out their roles and standing in the squad.
McInnes will stay calm, will stick with the process, and while there are things to figure out, the overall feeling should still be one of positivity.
