Rangers have officially secured the services of teenage attacker Connor Young from SPFL side Hibs for an undisclosed fee.

Via their official Twitter handle, the academy side announced that the 17-year-old has move to Ibrox.

Edinburgh News reported that the Gers were set to secure the services of the 25-goal "profilic" striker and that have completed that move on July 11.

They wrote, "Rangers Academy are delighted to announce the signing of Connor Young from Hibernian for an undisclosed fee. Welcome to Rangers, Connor."

Building for the future

The teenager bagged a colossal 25 goals for Gareth Evans’ under-18 side last season which is not easy at any age level.

His contribution played a massive role in helping them win the junior league title as well as going on a good run in the cup.

Not only did he find the back of the net regularly, but he also provided plenty of assists and proved that he's an overall attacking talent and not just a one-trick pony.

At Rangers, he will have the perfect platform to take his game to the next level as the level of coaching is second to none in Scottish football.

He's 17 and that certainly means that he's not too far away from being in contention for the senior team.

Whether or not Giovanni van Bronckhorst decides to work with him in the current pre-season remains to be seen, but he's one we're going to hear a lot about in the future.
