Rangers' league season did not start off great, but they can bounce back in Europe against Jagiellonia Bialystok.

The Glasgow side are looking to qualify for the Europa League this upcoming season and will have to go through the qualifying rounds.

A two-legged tied against Jagiellonia Bialystok awaits in the third-round of the qualifying stage, with Derek McInnes' side first travelling to Poland on 6 August.

After a lacklustre display from Rangers against Dundee United, the Gers boss is sure to shake things up as he seeks a better showcase from his squad.

Additionally, injury to Ben Godfrey will at least ensure that at minimum one change is made for Thursday's fixture.

Ivor Pandur will assuredly keep his place between the sticks for Rangers, with the new arrival now the number one.

Tuur Rommens and Dujon Sterling will also retain their places at fullback.

With Godfrey looking unlikely to be available for Thursday night, McInnes is going to have a decision to make at centre-back.

While it was Ross McCrorie who came on for the Englishman at Tannadice, that was likely due to Olwethu Makhanya being announced just the day before.

The South African has since had more time on the training ground under McInnes and with him being highy-rated, now could be the time to make his debut, alongside Emmanuel Fernandez.

In the centre of the pitch, Cammy Devlin will start for McInnes with Vanja Dragojevic making his first start.

After his years at FK Partizan, he is well used to the physicality that will likely be on show against the Polish outfit.

Thelo Aasgaard will look to bounce on from his goal on Friday, while both Lawrence Shankland and Youssef Chermiti will feature from the start.

Chermiti did not feature from the first whistle at Tannadice, despite starring in the Scottish Premiership under Danny Rohl last season.

With Shankland drifting in from the left, allowing Rommens space to overlap.

Meanwhile Findlay Curtis will take up the space on the right-wing, with that very much a position Rangers need to strenghten in.

What can Rangers expect from Jagiellonia Bialystok?

When Rangers travel to Bialystok, they can expect to be on the backfoot throughout the match, but that is not necessarily a negative.

According to FotMob, the Polish top flight side led their division in average possession per match with 58.1 per cent.

However, Rangers could exploit that by hitting them on the counter-attack.

Last season, Jagiellonia Bialystok were quite open at the back, and that is clear by the fact they were 16th out of 18 teams for xG conceded.

But from an expected conceded goals of 55.9, only 41 goals went in their net. So, their goalkeeper Slawomir Abramowicz could be the opposition player to watch.
