The Englishman returned to Ibrox last summer in an appointment that many felt let down by.

He may have played for the Gers before, but was hardly the exciting appointment that was expected by the new ownership.

It's fair to say that Leicester City fans are now feeling the exact same way 12 months later.

Martin has had a stinking start to life at the King Power Stadium, and it only looks like getting worse.

The East Midlands outfit were genuinely expected by many to go and win the League One title with ease.

It hasn't started in that fashion as one win from five has left the Foxes sitting 17th in the third tier.

That was bad enough, but is only getting worse.

Leicester suffered a 4-0 home defeat to Oxford United on Saturday in easily their worst result of the campaign so far.

It sparked rage from the stands as fans made it clear what they make of Martin's football.

Looking at the Foxes' defeat on Saturday, they secured the majority of possession on the day.

Their 63 per cent of the ball translated to 14 shots and 28 touches in the opposition box, both more than Oxford's 12 and 17 respectively.

Leicester also clocked up 208 more passes than Aaron Ramsey's side.

The U's still scored four and ran away easy winners, something which Rangers fans know all about.

Ibrox witnessed a 2-0 defeat to Hearts last year and held 66 per cent possession before taking 14 shots compared to the away side's 12.

Their 464 completed passes blew the Maroons' 186 out the water, but once again, it didn't mean anything.

Lawrence Shankland bagged a brace in Govan and secured all three points.

What happened next may get a mixed reception in the East Midlands.

Martin was eventually sacked by Rangers, but it was five games after this defeat.

Leicester fans may not be too willing to wait that long as in five games time it will be October and, if results don't improve, that could be a long five games.
