Rangers early team news vs Falkirk: Nicolas Raskin and Thelo Aasgaard updates amid exit talk

Thelo Aasgaard will not be in Rangers' squad at Falkirk on Wednesday night.

The 24-year-old was an unused substitute on Sunday in the 1-0 away win against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

Despite being a starter for Derek McInnes in the opening part of the season, he's since dropped down the pecking order.

And he's now reportedly on his way out of Ibrox, with Anderlecht set to sign the Norway international for £6million.

However, Aasgaard isn't the only Rangers midfielder whose future has been up in the air ahead of the midweek trip to Stirlingshire.

Will Nicolas Raskin be involved vs Falkirk?

Rangers have rejected a bid from Besiktas for Nicolas Raskin ahead of the Scottish transfer window closing on Thursday.

However, that doesn't mean the Belgium international will be staying put after the 5pm deadline on 3 September.

According to Rangers Review, a move to Turkey or Saudi Arabia is still possible with their transfer windows open until Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Either way, the Scottish Sun claims that Raskin will be with McInnes and co at Falkirk Stadium on Wednesday night for the Scottish Premiership clash with the Bairns.

What has Derek McInnes said about Raskin?

Ahead of the trip to Falkirk, McInnes has spoke highly of Raskin, who remains on the radars of clubs outside of the UK.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Rangers manager said: "Nico’s been first-class since he came back from the World Cup — he’s been good as gold, he’s trained brilliantly.

“Obviously there’s been a lot of chat about potential interest and there’s been a lot of conversations had with the club and prospective buyers.

“But, until an offer comes in that the club need to consider, Nico just has to knuckle down and train."

Of course, an offer now has come in and that offer has been booted into touch by the Gers, who'll no doubt be keen to keep hold of their most technically-gifted midfield talent.

As for Aasgaard, it looks as though he's already played his final game for Rangers.

And with Raskin, it could just be a matter of whether or not his appearance against Falkirk on Wednesday night is his Rangers swansong, or just any old other night for him with the Govan club.
