John Walker believes it would be a dream for Rangers fans if Philippe Clement were to leave the club and take charge of Belgium.

The 50-year-old has been linked with the Belgian national team, with Domenico Tedesco under pressure [Daily Record, 18 November], although Ibrox News understands that they won't hire him unless the Gers sack him.

Speaking on the BBC's Scottish Football Podcast [20 November], Walker shared that he'd be happy to assist to see Clement leave the Light Blues.

"I would drive him to Belgium myself if that was the case," he said.

"For Rangers fans, that would be the dream. I think it would be an almost perfect scenario for every single fan."

Philippe Clement lucky to still be Rangers manager

Like Walker, many of the Ibrox faithful would happily drive Clement to Belgium to get rid of him.

The 50-year-old has had a hard time this season and has failed to make any progress at the club, leaving them third in the Scottish Premiership, nine points behind Celtic, going into the November international break.

While Clement isn't at fault for all the issues that the Light Blues face, the performances on the pitch are his responsibility, and the team haven't been up to par.

If the 3-0 loss to Celtic at the start of the campaign wasn't bad enough, the Ibrox faithful have had to sit through terrible performances week in, and week out.

Rangers fans had expected the 50-year-old to be relieved of his duties after the 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock and the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen, but the Belgian has been lucky enough to survive.

It feels like it's only a matter of time before Clement departs the Ibrox dugout, and the Bears have a tough test against Dundee United on 23 November next up.
