Craig Moore believes Philippe Clement is on the verge of being sacked as Rangers' performances do not match the manager's comments to the media.

The Belgian has faced fresh criticism after the Gers could only secure a 1-1 draw against Dundee United on Saturday 23 November, coming from behind following Sam Dalby's first-half opener.

Supporters are growing frustrated with the poor results, with the Light Blues falling 11 points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic, but he has remained confident in front of the media that he can turn things around.

Speaking via the Go Radio Football Show [26 November], Moore said: "The manager is the one being attacked, and rightfully so. He's the man who's got to get the team performing to a level that's showing all the things we're hearing in the media.

"Unfortunately for Philippe Clement, it's not looking good. The performances are nowhere near good enough and results are hurting."

Is Philippe Clement on the brink of being sacked by Rangers?

Pundits all have predictions for when Clement might be sacked, though some believe that the Gers cannot actually afford to part ways with the Belgian soon.

While that may be true, the Light Blues' current form absolutely cannot continue as they continue to drop further and further behind Celtic and Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Upcoming fixtures are likely to show exactly what the squad is made of, with the Gers facing Nice and Tottenham in the Europa League and a crucial clash against the Hoops in the Scottish League Cup final.

If the Gers are to drop any further down the league table, it could be lights out for Clement, especially once new CEO Patrick Stewart begins his role at Ibrox next month.

Clement continues to be positive in front of the media, which is unsurprising given the current situation, and he will feel that he has what it takes to turn things around. Time is quickly running out, though.
