'Phenomenal' James Penrice in absolute peach of a Rangers moment vs Kilmarnock
James Penrice continued his fine form for Rangers in the 3-1 win against Kilmarnock.
The left-back started for Derek McInnes' team against Killie at Ibrox on 10 October.
Neil McCann's team had their moments, but the Light Blues' quality was too much to handle.
Penrice set up the opening goal at Ibrox as Ryan Naderi headed it past Calum Ferrie.
Kevin Kelsy also got himself on the scoresheet as Kilmarnock struggled to contain the Glaswegian outfit.
While the Govan side had several top performers before the break, their left-back certainly stood out.
Peter Lovenkrands hails James Penrice signing after moment vs Kilmarnock
Penrice has been a sensation under McInnes, with his role as an inverted full-back crucial to the two Old Firm derby wins.
Around the quarter-hour mark, the Gers played in some dangerous crosses into the box, and the one from the left-back proved influential.
Peter Lovenkrands raved about the defender's delivery, putting the ball on a plate for Naderi.
While Olwethu Makhanya has received much-deserved praise, the Glaswegian outfit's former attacker has branded Penrice one of the club's best recent signings.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound on 10 October, Lovenkrands said, "A great ball in between the defender and the goalkeeper and Naderi just times his run perfectly and puts his head onto it. The goalkeeper has absolutely no chance.
"Two great balls from each side causing massive problems, but the ball from Penrice is an absolute peach of a ball."
Lovenkrands then added, "Everybody is talking about Makhanya. Penrice has been one of the best signings Rangers have brought in. He has been absolutely phenomenal."
Why Derek McInnes will be worried after Rangers display
McInnes will have a few notes on areas for improvement, despite Rangers leading by three goals before the break after Naderi's brace.
Kilmarnock struggled to do much about the Gers' attacking quality, but they had their own moments up front.
If McCann's forwards had shown a bit more quality, they might have given Ivor Pandur more to think about.
The Killie manager will be frustrated that his attackers didn't do better with the chances they created, with Nicky Clescenco finally scoring a consolation goal in the 90th minute.
For McInnes, Kilmarnock's threat up front will serve as a reminder that the Govan side still have a lot of work to do.
